I fly home tomorrow and I have about a week off.

Just a tough night at the office. I'm surprised I kept the car on the track. A few other people weren't so lucky. Gave me flashbacks to last year when it was even worse.

I know I'm risking my life out there, but it shouldn't be because the tires aren't good enough.

Mine are more or less the same. I haven't had a free day since...I don't know, 1993, or so. Makes dating people tricky. Besides there's the whole mutant thing that I told you about.

Well. It doesn't bother me, if you can put up with my travel schedule and being in the public eye.

[ The question is rather unexpected and he's silent for a few seconds. No, the travel schedule wouldn't bother him at all. Being on camera is something he doesn't like but he's done it before so it wouldn't be a big deal.

He really does like her and Scott wouldn't mind to get to know Shelby even better given the change. The only worry he has is that she might be making this decision because she's got a big scare today. However, he allows himself to smile before finally replying. ]

Thank you, Shelby. [ Scott is not used to people being so easily accepting so he has a hard time expressing how much it matters to him. Hopefully his face would be telling enough. ]

[Chuckles. It's been a hard few weeks of racing and it has taken its toll.]

So we might take it a little slow. I won't immediately be suggesting you take me to bed.

I've heard that massages are great for that sort of things. And I'm not too bad with my hands.

[ Oh she doesn't need to justify herself, he's familiar with how much the body suffers after races and battles. ]

There's plenty of things we can do with our clothes on, don't worry about it.

[ He never expect, nor he needs, sex every time they see each other. It's great when they do but there's other things he'd like to explore about their blooming relationship.

And that went both ways, though. You've seen me naked too, I had plenty of reasons to be self conscious.

I'm always trying to look perfect. It's a reflex from being in the public eye. Not so much when I'm with my crew, or at home, but any time someone else is around? It's a flaw.

Sounds more like a necessity than a personal flaw. The public eye is quick to judge, it's a shame you have to deal with it so often.
